How do I buy a horse?

You can use the online Bidding Forms. There are seperate forms for each faction. Remember dealing within your own faction will save you money.

How is it that most of the horses available for sale are priced well above their value?

It depends on the market supply. The value is a calcuation of what the horse is worth today. A good horse will make many times its current value in race winnings, stud fees, offspring, etc

Who sets the claim price?

The horse owner does. You can use the Horse Update Form. There will also be a special form sent to owners to let them adjust the claim price each turn.

How do I sell horses?

See the answer to the previous question. Remember that the claim price is a minimum bid. Most players will bid more than the claim price if they want to buy a horse.

Why can't I sell my horse.

Either your claim price is too high or the horse is currently injured. Injured horses can't be traded. If your horse is healthy, take a look at the Bidding Forms and see what other horses of the same value are selling for.

To be assured of a sell set the claim price to 1 and then the bank will determine the minimum value and will buy the horse at that value if no better bid is made.

What if I decide not to sell my horse after I have already set a claim price?

Setting the claim price to 0 will take the horse out of the bidding forms.

Is age a factor in trading horses?

Only in what others are willing to pay for it. Horses can be sold at any age. They must be 2 years old to race, and 3 years old to breed.
